WIGS Officers 2019:
July 2019 Update
Since my last report, WIGS have been involved in various events without much success !!
In the Newson-Smith Cup at East Berkshire, our team of Philip Grant, Charles Thomson, Patrick Smith and Kingsley Borrett were unable to mount a serious challenge although Kingsley did win the individual
Prize for the best score of the day. The winners were the Tallow Chandlers Company.
Our match at Tandridge against Lutine Golf Society was lost 6 – 4 despite WIGS having a slender lead from the morning round.
In the Ray Jeffs event at Hartley Wintney, David Sales was able to field 2 teams of 4 on the hottest day ever in the UK; both WIGS teams posted respectable scores without featuring in the prizes with the Air Pilots winning their own event. Nick Redgrove did however win one of the Nearest the Pin prizes.
Philip Grant organised a very good Captains Day at Bishops Stortford Golf Club with 20 players; Pete Ambler and his guest were the winners on the back 9 from President Ian Chippendale who did win a Nearest the Pin prize.
We now look forward to our final 2 matches with IGS and Lloyds Golf Club as well as our short trip to Saunton in September.
WIGS Results - From Foundation to Now
We have put together this information about the winners of the Neave Trophy and the other subsidiary events on our annual Members day at New Zealand. This includes the annual competition that took place prior to the formation of WIGS in 1996.
