XO Bikes is one of the charities supported by the Sheriffs’ and Recorder’s Fund.

XO Bikes is organising its first cycling charity event on Friday 10 May 2024, “The Great Escape”. This is an epic Prison to Prison ride, with the route being HMP Wandworth (breakfast) - Surrey Hills – HMP High Down & HMP Downview (lunch) – Box Hill – HMP Brixton – Herne Hill velodrome (BBQ), host to the 1948 Summer Olympics.

XO Bikes was the first business launched by Onwards and Upwards, in March 2022, by Stefan Jones and Rob Love as one of five charities to support prison leavers (XO = Ex-Offenders).  The prison leavers are trained to be fully qualified mechanics or ‘fixers’. XO Bikes recycles used bikes, taking donated bikes from the public, the police (they are the Met’s first choice for unclaimed bikes), and from railways, universities and property groups. These bikes are refurbished to the Velotech Platinum Standard and refinished for sale to the public. XO Bikes has shops in Lewisham and Wandsworth, where these bikes can be bought; bikes can also be brought in for servicing or electric conversion.
