Ailsa King is Chief Commercial Officer for Marsh McLennan UK - the world’s leading professional services firm in Risk, Strategy and People. Ailsa joined Marsh in April 2017 as Chief Client Officer, working across the firm’s operations in the UK to lead the development of risk solutions to assist clients in mitigating the challenges they face.
In addition to her role leading client relationships and growth across the four Marsh McLennan businesses, Ailsa chairs Marsh’s Quality Council, the Conduct and Culture Committee and the Marsh Services Limited Board.
Previously, Ailsa worked at Willis Towers Watson for 25 and Sedgwick for five years and has always held client facing roles since she started her broking career in 1986.
Yasmin Carter-Esdale is an experienced insurance professional with 14 years of expertise spanning both broking and underwriting. Her career includes positions at specialist insurer Hiscox and global broker Gallagher. In 2022, Yasmin secured funding from LinkedIn to launch ELEV822, the first insurance-specific LinkedIn development programme, designed to help professionals enhance their personal brand and strengthen trading relationships. Following the successful launch, ELEV822 was rolled out across Chartered Insurance Institute local institutes and commercial partners where it continues to equip insurance professionals with the skills and strategies to maximize their presence on LinkedIn.
Yasmin is also a dedicated advocate for professional development, serving as Deputy Chair of the CII Underwriting Community, supporting over 9000 underwriters globally and as Partnerships Lead at iCAN (Insurance Cultural Awareness Network), where she drives key initiatives to foster greater inclusion within the insurance profession. Committed to empowering women in insurance, Yasmin actively promotes mentorship, professional development and networking opportunities. In recognition of her significant contributions and impact to the industry, Yasmin was named a 2023 finalist for the Insurance Woman of the Year award.
Paolo Cuomo is an Executive Director in the Global Strategic Advisory team at Gallagher Re. Previously, he had over twelve years’ experience in the London insurance market, working for Brit, Beazley, Charles Taylor and Boston Consulting Group. Paolo brings an unrelenting drive to ensure technology is effectively used across underwriting, claims and back-office functions. Over the past decade, Paolo has set up a new Lloyd’s syndicate and Managing Agency, supported the creation of the Lloyd’s Lab, and pushed the development of the “bionic underwriter” which blends human experience and judgement with data analytics and technology-enabled insight. At Brit he was part of the team that launch the innovative ‘Ki’ digital syndicate. In 2015 Paolo co-founded InsTech London, the world’s first insurtech association and a driving force in making London the centre of the global insurtech movement. Paolo sits on the IIL’s Cyber and Tech committee, is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Insurers (WCI), and a founding member of the Global InsurTech Alliance. He advises and mentors various insurtech start-ups. Paolo holds an MEng from Imperial College, London and an MBA from Kellogg School of Management, is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology. He is the WCI's Charity Link with Action Tutoring.
Ayleen Frete has spent 17 years in the insurance industry, working at AIG since 2021. In her current role as Global Head of Multinational Insights and Engagement, AIG General Insurance, she promotes the AIG Multinational offering to clients and brokers, as well as liaising with internal stakeholders to strengthen AIG’s multinational customer touchpoints, competitive advantage and ensuring global regulatory updates across products and countries to structure multi-national programmes appropriately.
She moved to London in 2016 after living in Munich, having worked in different roles within the Allianz Group in the areas of sales and market strategy, broker distribution, heading the multi-national team for the UK & Nordics and UK & Benelux.
Originally from Madrid, Ayleen speaks fluent Spanish, English, French and German, as well as some Italian. Outside of work, Ayleen is passionate about music and art, and is part of the South London Community Music charity raising money for different causes by performing jazz, contemporary and classical music in London. She also volunteers remotely for the Spanish charity Alianza Solidaria, supporting humanitarian projects worldwide with a focus on helping women and children in developing countries.
Sarah Griffiths is Director of Marketing & Communications (EMEA) for Gallagher. She joined Gallagher in 2013 and is responsible for brand, marketing and internal and external communications across the EMEA business along with UK corporate partnerships and sponsorships, including Gallagher’s Title Partnership of Premiership Rugby. Sarah moved into the insurance industry ten years ago, initially out of curiosity, after spending 15 years in the telecoms and technology sector, latterly as Head of Communications for BT Wholesale and before that, Head of HR & Media Relations at CGI. She is a passionate advocate for working parents and has an eleven year old son who she is (desperately) trying to teach the Welsh language in an attempt to keep her homeland roots alive in London.

Dr Simone Krummaker is an Associate Professor of Insurance and the Head of Faculty of Actuarial Science & Insurance at Bayes Business School.
She is an experienced insurance researcher, educator and academic leader working at the intersection of theory, practice and innovation, with a strong track record of translating applied, empirical research into insights that inform industry strategy, decision-making, teaching, and executive engagement.
With over a decade in the insurance industry and more than 20 years in research, advisory and knowledge transfer, Simone has worked with insurers, export credit agencies and governments, as well as a range of financial services firms. Her work spans topics such as corporate insurance demand, export credit and political risk, and sustainability in insurance, with a growing focus on how data, analytics and emerging technologies are reshaping insurance value chains. Simone is a regular speaker on these themes for industry and policy audiences.
Besides her professional insurance qualification, she holds a doctoral degree (Dr. rer. pol.) and a German university degree (Diplom-Ökonom) in Business and Economics from Leibniz University of Hannover, and is Insurance Lead & Senior Fellow at the lill Institute for Public Value.
Kishan Mangat is a specialist litigator who defends catastrophic injury claims on behalf of large insurers and corporate self-insured companies predominantly in the context of RTAs and EL/PL matters dealing with all aspects of liability, causation and quantum. She has a particular interest in defending brain injury and amputation claims by adopting bespoke and innovative strategies. In 2018, Kishan was elected as President of Tomorrow's Forum of Insurance Lawyers (TFOIL) and short-listed in the legal category for the We are the City Rising Star Awards. In 2019, Kishan was a finalist in the legal category for the Women in Insurance Awards. Kishan regularly appears in the legal and insurance industry press. She is a passionate commentator on the importance of ethnic diversity and she is a founding member and Co-Chair of the Insurance Cultural Awareness Network (iCAN), which promotes and supports ethnic minority talent across the insurance industry.
Chantell McLaren is a Senior Marketing Manager at EXL Service UK, where she drives high-impact marketing strategies with a focus on the insurance sector. With over 20 years of experience, Chantell specialises in B2B, B2C, and B2B2C marketing. She has a proven track record of leading successful award-winning campaign, multi-channel campaigns and generating measurable business growth. Before joining EXL, Chantell held key marketing roles across various industries, with her deepest expertise in insurance
Charanya Mukundan is an Operations Director for Commercial Risk Client services at Aon, where she has served for the last decade in various leadership roles. Charanya has over 20 years of experience in financial services sector. Her career was mainly around finance operations but has now broadened into front end business Operations. Charanya is a highly accomplished, dedicated, and disciplined professional with extensive experience in strategic operations, change management, and fiduciary/ business process outsourcing.
A powerful change agent, Charanya is passionate about early careers, DE & I and gender parity. Charanya was born and raised in India, and she migrated to the UK very early on in her career. Her passion for these causes stem from the challenges and learnings she had along the way, that has helped shape her career so far. She is keen to bring her knowledge and experience to help drive change and support continuity.
Sam Nowell is Managing Director of Sea Change London and has spent 20+ years in the Lloyd’s and London Insurance markets. Sam gained MSc & BSc qualifications in Computing & Communications before working directly with brands including the Corporation of Lloyd's, Beazley, ACORD, Chaucer, MS Amlin, AEGIS and Munich Re. She has driven complex change and led market engagement on some of the market's highest profile programmes, including the set up of Lloyd’s European Insurance Company, the Lloyd’s Brexit PartVII Transfer and Operational Resilience oversight and delivery. In the last ten years, Sam founded and grew Sea Change London, a purpose-led consultancy firm utilising deep market knowledge to drive transformation across the insurance sector. Services include supporting firms with cultural change, inclusion and diversity. A seasoned public speaker, Sam regularly speaks on being a parent carer at market forums, such as the Lloyd’s Families Network and GAIN. Sam joined the WCI in 2023, and volunteered as a mentor on the WCI Sheriffs challenge in 2024. A passionate advocate for working parents and women in tech, Sam has four children, including an adult son with a complex disability.
Nishma Tate is the Head of Global Business Development for Allianz’ Alternative Risk Transfer Business. Having trained as an accountant (ICAEW) and spending the initial 10 years of her career in various Finance functions across the UK and Zurich, Nishma moved to the front office, first as a Chief of Staff to the CUO Specialty lines, followed by various Client facing roles. She was one of the founding members and chairs of her company’s Diversity and Inclusion networks in London. Outside of the work she is a trustee for a charity the supports and advocates for single mothers from a South Asian heritage in inner city London.
