Lord Mayor’s Show returns and WCI plays a full part in the celebrations

The WCI was proud to take part in Saturday's Lord Mayor's Show, which made a welcome return following its cancellation last year, to wish the new Lord Mayor Vincent Keaveny all the best for his year in office.

ImageDue to covid restrictions the Company took part in the procession as part of the Modern Liveries group and were permitted three walkers. We were ably represented by our Master David Sales, John Moffatt and Maxine Goddard (pictured).

While preparations for the Show were disrupted by lockdown and some elements were different this year, there was a festival atmosphere on this landmark day for the City.

Master David Sales said:

“It was great to be back at the Lord Mayor’s Show and a privilege to be part of the WCI team welcoming our new Lord Mayor. The Show is an opportunity to feel true pride about our industry and highlight its contribution to businesses and communities around the world.

“While we couldn’t undertake the full extent of our usual celebrations, it was really uplifting to see the City’s businesses, Livery Companies, charities, Her Majesty’s Forces, the City Police and people from all walks of life come together to enjoy a splendid day!

“We would also like to thank Aon for its continued support and sponsorship which ensured that we were able to play a full part in the event and in particular allowed us to give our thanks and recognition to the contribution and sacrifice of key workers and fundraisers.”
