WCI proudly supports Dame Susan Langley as Lady Mayor

Liverymen and Liverywomen of the City filled the Guildhall this week for the election of the 697th Lord Mayor of London and the Worshipful Company of Insurers was delighted to be out in strength to support Dame Susan Langley DBE who was resoundingly elected. Sue will be the third female Lord Mayor of London, and the first to style herself Lady Mayor. It is also the first time we have been the Mother Company of the City's First Citizen.
The WCI presence was led by Master Karl Jarvis and Senior Warden Sara Fardon.
"Many congratulations to Dame Susan and husband Gary Langley. The Worshipful Company of Insurers is proud to support you", said Karl Jarvis.
"Sue is passionate about the City and creating opportunity for those who don’t see the City as a place for them. This came over loud and clear as she spoke to accept the nomination", said Sara Fardon.

• The WCI will have a major presence in the Lord Mayor's Show on Saturday 8 November. It secured the exclusive use of the magnificent Painters' Hall for the day which will serve as a very convenient base for Liverymen/women, family, friends, and sponsors for the day.
