iNED Forum: How can NEDs test Operational Resilience in an increasingly interconnected digital world?
Date: Wednesday, 23rd September 2026
Time: 15:30 - 17:30
Venue: Forvis Mazars, 30 Old Bailey, London EC4M 7AU
Price: £50.00
Book NowThe insurance industry continues to evolve at pace and nowhere is this more evident than in the increasingly complex operations environment.
No longer is the main topic centred around how to manage staff capacity to deal with peaks and troughs in transaction volumes.
NEDs are having to understand the interrelationships and risks that accompany an abundance of new technology tools and platforms for underwriting, claims, policy administration and customer centricity.
Together with an increasingly interconnected broker and market portal environment while supplier relationships become much more digitised and elongated.
And at the same time, regulators are also taking an increasingly proactive role and demanding that boards consider the broader operational risks across the business landscape.
This Forum will enable NEDs to consider the topic from three perspectives:
- First, from the perspective of a Chief Operating Officer,
- Second, from the perspective of the Regulators,
- Third, from the perspective of a Board Chair and Risk Committee Chair
We are delighted to have three speakers with a unique combination of experiences and knowledge as Executives, Board members and Consultants:
Kate Roy: Kate is currently Group Chief Operating Officer at Canopius.
David Weymouth: David is a highly experienced NED, currently Chair of Pension Insurance Corporation and Risk Committee Chair at Marsh.
Sarah Ouarbya: Sarah is a partner at Forvis Mazars and Head of FS Regulatory Compliance Services.
The event will be Chaired and Facilitated by iNED Committee members Mark Robertson and Tammy Richardson.
By attending this event, delegates should be able to:
- Understand the various factors contributing to the interdependencies in the new operational environment
- Articulate the consequent changing risks
- Confirm the Regulatory ‘must dos’ and NED personal obligations in a changed space
- Identify practical steps Board members can take to challenge and test the robustness of executives’ plans
- Clarify the best sources of information to facilitate this constructive challenge
This in person iNED Forum is open to insurance Non-Executive Directors (iNEDS), aspiring iNEDS, Company Secretaries, Compliance staff and all those involved with corporate governance, underwriting, broking and risk management in the insurance sector.
There is no requirement for delegates to be members of the Worshipful Company of Insurers.
