The theme of the event is Are we prepared?
This will address the implications for our finances, buildings, food supply chains and ourselves by the impact of climate change and extreme weather events.It will be chaired by Alderman Alison Gowman, with both Sheriffs taking part as well as a keynote address from Baroness Brown of Cambridge. Other highlights include hearing from Kevin Parry, Chair of Nationwide and Mark Babington of the Financial Reporting Council on the financial risks. Prof Tim Lang, who has just authored the report on Food Security for the National Preparedness Commission is also speaking.
Attendees will also be able to have an early peak into the work to retrofit the Barbican Arts Centre with Philippa Simpson.
