London Phoenix Orchestra’s first concert of 2026 brings together four pieces inspired by other art forms.

Mussorgsky’s vivid impressions of his friend Viktor Hartmann’s art contrasts with Rachmaninov’s brooding rendition of Böcklin’s Isle of the Dead; 21-year-old Dorothy Howell’s passionate interpretation of Keats’ epic poem Lamia offers literary contrast, and the evening is kicked off by Bernstein’s barnstorming overture to his operetta based on Voltaire’s Candide.

As the Livery sponsor of the orchestra, WCI members are entitled to discounted tickets at £20 each.
