Carey’s career is an interesting one. Starting out as a lawyer specialising in complex insurance claims and coverage disputes, she spent a decade in private practice, including at Norton Rose Fulbright, before making the move into insurance broking.

In 2014, she joined JLT to establish its Legal, Technical & Claims team, before moving to Howden in 2020. Today, alongside her executive and Board responsibilities, she chairs Howden Specialty’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee.

From legal specialist to senior executive and Board Director, Carey’s journey offers a fascinating insight into the choices, opportunities and challenges that shape a career at the highest levels of our industry.
